Janice Falck Obituary

Jance E. (Jewitt) Falck, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and dedicated nurse, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2024, at Brookestone Meadows Retirement Home in Elkhorn, Nebraska surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 29, 1936, to Ralph and Amanda Jewitt. She was the youngest of two children. She grew up in Friend, Nebraska where she graduated from high school in 1954. She then enrolled and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas and became a registered nurse.

Jan married the love of her life, Paul E. Falck, on February 4, 1961, and together they shared a wonderful journey through life. They had two children John and Anne, and later welcomed daughter-in-law Maggie and son-in-law Fred Henderson. She was thrilled to have five grandchildren: John and Maggie’s three sons: Kevin, Justin, and Andrew; and Anne and Fred’s children: Tara and Frederick. In October 2019, she was happy to welcome Justin’s wife Kelsi and in October 2021, Frederick’s wife Megan to the family. She was extremely thrilled to have three great grandchildren: Justin and Kelsi’s two sons Fisher and Fenn, and Frederick and Megan’s son Frederick IV.

Jan dedicated her life to caring for others, as her professional career as a registered nurse spanned decades, during which she touched countless lives with her skill, empathy, and dedication. Later in her career, she taught at Southeast Community College as an instructor of operating room technicians, where her guidance and expertise shaped the careers of numerous healthcare professionals. Jan’s commitment to excellence and her passion for teaching left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of learning from her. Jan will be remembered for her kindness, grace, and unwavering dedication to her profession.

Aside from her career, Jan enjoyed sharing life with everyone through many activities that included: bowling, camping, fishing, playing cards, swimming, and hosting gatherings.

Jan is survived by her loving children, her adoring grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Additional family include nieces and nephews: Vali (Gaylord) Mussman, Kathy (Steve) Gochnour, Kim, Marty (Joan), and Brad Larsen. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, and brother and sister-in-law John and Sharon Jewitt.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to American Lung Association, in honor of Jan’s lifelong commitment of caring for others.
